Interruptions are the spice of life

Monday April 30, 2018    You have great plans, and strive to move forward. Unfortunately all sorts of events constantly interrupt and impede your progress.  These unexpected interruptions seem to be the cause behind what is holding you back.  However, the fact is you have the power to prevent them from taking over your life. Instead of seeing those interruptions as distracting influences, choose to view them as empowering opportunities. Just because they weren't part of your plan doesn't mean they have to upset your daily goals. You can find something positive in anything. The positive in any interruption is that you will be finding an alternative way to move forward.  Our GPS navigator states it best when we deviate from the scheduled route and states, "Recalculating."   Learn to welcome, embrace and empower yourself with the unexpected interruptions. They're always going to come, so make the choice to make them work in your favor.

Practice your magic

“Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.”   Roald Dahl Monday April 16, 2018 Do you believe in Magic? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lY8G_lXqww “We do not need magic to transform our world. We carry all of the power we need inside ourselves already.”   ―   J.K. Rowling As a child we innocently believed in magic.  Think back and reflect on a moment in your childhood where you felt a little magic. Perhaps it was the excitement of anticipating the Tooth Fairy or the thrill of waking up to the first snowfall!  As adults we overlook those magical moments as we rush through our day.  But what are we rushing to?  Most likely more of the same, and we've missed numerous opportunities to bask in the glow of our own magical day. Take a moment this morning to slow down and observe the magical moments around you.   Tell us when you catch your magical moment this week in the comments below. (Tweet this):

Compassion Meditation

If your compassion does not include yourself …it is incomplete Monday April 9, 2018 How to Practice Compassion Meditation “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”   ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson We all have days when things backfire or weeks when we can’t seem to get anything done.  These are the times not to beat yourself up, but to dig down deep and develop the resolve to go forward.  Where do you find the strength to carry on or the motivation to do so?    Buddhists believe the way is through Karuṇā, a popular meditation technique that focuses on opening our heart and mind to be more compassionate. Sometimes life is difficult.  We all face obstacles and hardships that are mingled in with other’s negativity and despair.   It is wise to observe your own behavior and recognize that your actions have implications, while recognizing that it is your compassion that drives you toward being respectf

Think it to believe it

Change your thoughts Change your world Don’t believe everything you think. Monday April 2, 2018 Just because you believe something, doesn’t make it true ~ or does it? Would it surprise you to learn that 80% of what you think is predominantly negative?   We are constantly being bombarded with negative thoughts.   Across the radio, social media or television, the sad fact is all this doom and gloom is manifesting pessimism.   You are adding to it with thoughts such as; “I’ll never get out from under this debt or I don’t see an end to this project.”   When you constantly connect to a disparaging belief you have about yourself, the Universe will bring more of it to you. It’s not simple to reverse how you think to draw positive energy.   However, there are hacks you can implement immediately.   It all starts with an awareness of what you’re putting into your brain.   A good start is to reduce the trash you are putting in.   And that means, turning off the tube. Romantic Idioms

If you have a heartbeat There is still time for your dreams Monday March 26, 2018 I can hear your heartbeat Our heart begins beating at four weeks after conception and stops upon our death.  It is the hardest working organ in our body and the one we associate with love, passion, pain and even the passing of time.   Our beating heart is so important that it has found it’s way into our vernacular and in idioms expressing our most tender emotions.  Everyday phrasing such as “ be still my heart   or   lose your heart ” are commonly used to convey a heart that is beating hard and fast while being handed over to a new love interest.  Isn’t it ironic that we must lose our heart to show true devotion? It is widely believed that our heart creates enough energy to drive a truck the distance of 20 miles.  If we were to combine those 20 miles from the moment our heart begins beating, to the last beat of our life, it would equal a long truck ride (bumpy or smooth) to the
