Life is to be enjoyed

Not just endured. September 10, 2018 What Makes You Happy? We do not describe the world we see, we see the world we can describe ~ Rene Descartes Supremely happy people choose to be happy! According to studies published in The Journal of Positive Psychology, choosing to be happy can boost your emotional well-being.  Those who actively made the effort to feel happier reported the highest level of positive moods, making a case for thinking yourself happy. Neurological studies of the brain's reaction to music indicate that the majority of people experience emotional reactions to music.  Happy music usually features a faster tempo causing us to breath faster; one physical sign of happiness.  Let's try an experiment.   If you are in the office, maybe turn down the volume a bit ....     Click this link   to Pharrell Williams' "Happy."  Does it make you happy?   If it didn't, give me a call because we need to talk! ~ Jacque ;-)

Be who you needed

when you were younger Monday, July 30, 2018 Daily Journaling Keeps You Focused Are you overwhelmed by projects? Sometimes our minds are filled with so many ideas that it's almost impossible to know where to begin. To remain focused and guard against becoming overwhelmed, it helps to keep a list of your goals and challenges in a journal.  Carry your journal with you and add to it frequently as new ideas pop into your head. Please, don't stop at writing it down. Prioritize and focus on being productive rather than just keeping busy.  Begin by taking small steps toward completing one, two or three of the most important items on the list.   When you break an overwhelming project down into small accomplishments, you will complete projects and keep the stress down to a dull roar. Don’t wait for the right moment to start

Start and make each moment right Monday, July 23, 2018 Are You Waiting for the Right Moment? How long should we wait for inspiration to strike? How long should we wait until we are certain we're making the right decision? How long should we wait until everything is perfectly aligned and success is guaranteed?  The fact is you have waited long enough, and the time you are squandering is time you will never get back.  Because once you are living your dream, you’ll wish you had a lot more of that wasted time.  Believe this…time isn’t waiting for you. An authentic life takes courage, combined with making mistakes and taking risks because "the perfect time" is never that clear and waiting is a stall tactic to use when you are afraid of the outcome.  Studies consistently show that when we look back on our lives the most common regrets are not the risks taken, but the ones avoided. Of the many regrets people describe, regrets of inaction far outnumbe

When things are going great,

it's easy to be positive. Monday, July 16, 2018 Pick Yourself Up * Nothing's impossible I have found For when my chin is on the ground I pick myself up Dust myself off Start all over again Don't allow life's setbacks to influence whether you stand still or take a temporary step backwards. Recognize that we don't always understand the big picture. On a difficult day take a small step forward.  Every small step forward counts and at the end of the day you'll be glad, because those small steps add up. During those difficult days you may have to dig a little deeper.  However, when it comes from a deeper place it's that much more powerful! If you really want to make something good happen, positive actions really count! (Tweet this):  Being defeated is often temporary.  Giving up makes it permanent. * "Pick Yourself Up" is a popular song composed in 1936 by Jerome Kern, with lyrics written by Dorothy Fields.

What's inside always beats

what's outside  Monday, July 9, 2018 You Will Always Win "There's a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in." Leonard Cohen You may not have complete control over the day.  However, you have a lot more control than you think. Why?  You have 100% control over your belief that you will accomplish today’s goals.  Our days are better when we face them with a smile and a sense of conviction that what you are working toward has already happened. When you keep that sense of positivity and light glowing from within, despite any dark stormy day you carry an internal torch of strength that continues to grow and motivates you so that goals will not be forgotten. (Tweet this):  Go within every day and find the inner strength so that the world will not blow your candle out.

Be careful how you are talking to yourself

Because you are listening. Monday, July 2, 2018 “I am” are two of the smallest, but most powerful words.   What you put after them shapes your reality. Become What You Think Every morning after washing your face and brushing your teeth look yourself in the mirror and ask,  "Why not me ... why can't I be the successful one?  Now. . . talk to your self. Keep your response positive and state out loud, "It can always be me." You are the one driving the bus and directing your future toward success.  Are you making an important sales pitch today?  On the way into work this morning, free your mind of all negative thoughts.  Visualize leading the charge, successfully handling that call and shaking your prospect's hand in agreement.  Rehearse the questions you need to ask and how you are going to listen and respond.  Picture yourself nodding in agreement while making the appropriate sound effects, hmmm, oh or wow! If you practice this exerci
