Reverse the Negative with Kindness December 21, 2015
It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year to be
Kind
Is it really helping if we’re in it for ourselves?
There’s a new study released in the
Yale University School of Medicine’s, Clinical
Psychological Science Journal that may lead towards improving the affects
daily stress has on our daily health.
After testing the effect of kind
gestures on 77 adults for two weeks, Yale scientists came to the conclusion
that when being helpful, folks are less likely to be affected negatively by
daily stress. It appears that when we help others we can also help
ourselves!
The week leading up to Christmas is
known for being very stressful. Let’s
start a trend and test out this new scientific discovery. Make a decision to perform 5 helpful deeds
starting this morning. Carve out a little positivity for yourself this week
while making small changes in how you interact with friends or co-workers.
Perhaps some day down the road
there will be a prescription for unhappiness . . . Hold open the door for 10
people this week!
