How to Practice Compassion Meditation

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”  ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

We all have days when things backfire or weeks when we can’t seem to get anything done.  These are the times not to beat yourself up, but to dig down deep and develop the resolve to go forward.  Where do you find the strength to carry on or the motivation to do so?

Buddhists believe the way is through Karuṇā, a popular meditation technique that focuses on opening our heart and mind to be more compassionate.

Sometimes life is difficult.  We all face obstacles and hardships that are mingled in with other’s negativity and despair.   It is wise to observe your own behavior and recognize that your actions have implications, while recognizing that it is your compassion that drives you toward being respectful.

If you are not doing it yet, you might consider building in a block of time to practice a bit of compassion yourself.
